VR-62 is a United States Navy Reserve squadron based at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida. The squadron was established in 1950 and is currently part of the Navy Reserve's Fleet Logistics Support Wing.
The mission of VR-62 is to provide worldwide airlift support to the Navy and Marine Corps, as well as other government agencies and allied forces. The squadron operates the C-130T Hercules aircraft, which is a versatile transport aircraft capable of conducting a wide range of missions.
In addition to their normal duties, VR-62 has also been involved in humanitarian relief efforts, including delivering supplies to areas affected by natural disasters such as hurricanes and earthquakes.
The squadron comprises approximately 250 officers and enlisted personnel, with a mix of full-time and part-time reservists. Trainings are being conducted to ensure that personnel are properly trained and equipped to perform their roles efficiently during deployment.
